Whistling Straits is a Dye fescue fever dream on Lake Michigan — 8,000-plus truckloads of sand, bunkers that do not end, a wind that does not care about a yardage book. It has hosted three PGA Championships and the 2021 Ryder Cup. Whispers at Whistling is the quiet version: weather, fescue, no grandstand.
