Horse country. A white house. Fazio made the hills play longer than they look.

Bedminster opened in 2004 on a former dairy farm in Somerset County — two Fazio courses, a Georgian clubhouse that photographs like a White House that golf got to first. The 2017 U.S. Women’s Open was here. Park Sung-hyun won. The land is high and open: bunkers in the left, a pond against the house, a blue ball on a tee that is farther from the flag than it looks. House Pond is the club looking back at you. The Blue is the shot you have not hit yet.
